Biting My Tounge !!
I know religion is a touchy subject. You can probably tell I usually say what is on my mind. I'll ask this question... Is that a bad thing or a good thing?
Do you believe you need to be baptized to get to Heaven? Say so!
Do you believe we need to obey the Bible? Say so!
Do you believe the Bible? Say so!
Do you believe you are right? Say so!
Could you imagine if Jesus was talking to us right now on the computer? Do you think He would hem-haw on these subjects? Would He say, "yeah, I know I said you have to believe in Me before you get baptized, but you know, I didn't specifically say at what age.....so, I guess you might think it would be O.K. to baptized infants." NO!!! He would give you a straight answer. If you asked Him if it seemed liked such a small thing, would your eternal life really depend on it? Do you think He would say, "Well, I guess I wasn't clear on the whole 'houselhold' thing, so, no I guess its not a big deal." NO!!! He put it in His Book for a reason.
I know it is not good to argue with someone. You are not going to get anywhere with that approach. But, why is it considered arguing if you are stating your opinion? It is our duty as Christians to spread God's Word. If someone is doing something contrary to His Word, we need to tell them. It is our job. If we see someone rowing down a river headed for a waterfall, do we tell them it is ahead? Or, do we let them perish? God tells us not to kneel down to statues. Some people do. Shouldn't we tell them that God does not approve of this? They might not know He said these things. Ignorance doesn't save us from damnation. Are we being mean to these people, or are we trying to help them? Am I putting down their religion? NO!!! I'm telling them it has some flaws in it. I'm telling them they should study for themselves the Bible. They should understand what they believe. They shouldn't believe in something just because they were raised that way.
People, listen to what I am saying. I am no better than you. I don't pretend to be. I am flesh. I sin. I am not perfect. I don't have all of the answers. BUT, the Bible specifically teaches about certain issues. They are not up for debate. They are in His Book for a reason. He wants us to obey Him. Why don't we? Are we secure enough with a group of people telling us what is right, or should we take God's word for it?

~peace~
Thanks for dropping in, m2. No hard feelings. Please stop in again.
Imagine you were born in 30 AD. If you are not secure enough with a group of people telling you what is right, would you be baptized at the hand of the Apostles? or would you ask: "Is it in the Torah?"
May be you would be classified with the Pharisees who argued a lot.
If you don't trust people today, you would never trust them yesterday.
oh, anthony, anthony, anthony.....
I'm afraid you have lost it, buddy. Has Jesus returned to Earth? Has He told us there is a new set of rules? Please tell me if I have missed it. But, as far as I know, He still left us just the Bible to follow Him by. If someone came to me today, and told me he was God, you are right I would probably not believe Him. But, if I had heard of a Man who was performing miracles, raising the dead, making the blind to see, and the deaf to hear, and many were going around preaching about Him.....I would probably believe it then.
Your analogies are getting worse and worse. Maybe its the air over there?
PJ
PJ,
You boys play nice. It's true that errors are in the house of worship. They were also in Jerusalem. The Lord will open the eyes of any-one who calls upon Him. And then we will see clearly to remove the speck in our brothers eye. Jesus is a heart issue, not a right understanding. If it was we would all be in trouble. God knows His own, and He is able to keep them.
Be Blessed,
Pete
